Left-Handed Sponge Squeeze

Today's Metric Olympic  event--- Left-handed Sponge Squeeze

Today's focus was on getting comfortable measuring volume of a liquid.  So each country (table group) had to choose a representative and judge to participate in our event.  The participant had 5 seconds to squeeze as much water out of the sponge into the graduated cylinder as they could.  The judge and Judge (Mrs. M) recorded how much water was in the graduated cylinder. 

The students had to know the following for today's events:

• What tool to use
• How to use the tool
• What unit of measurement to use 
• The size of the units of measurement
